Scanned Frequencies
In this project, I explore the synergy between industrial techno music and visual representation using a scanner as an unconventional camera. Inspired by the intense, rhythmic nature of techno, I experimented with household objects with reflective surfaces, manipulating them in real-time along the beat. By physically dragging these items over the scanner bed, I aimed to capture the fluidity and distortion synonymous with sound waves, creating abstract compositions that mimic the textures and movements I visualize while immersed in music. This body of work speaks to my interest in challenging traditional methods of image-making, embracing unpredictability and abstraction to transform mundane objects into visual resonances of sound. Through this intuitive approach, I invite viewers to experience a synesthetic journey, where audio and visual elements blend, reflecting the immersive power of music and technology in creating new sensory interpretations.
